REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE! Under this motto, we from Beastie Butterfly support the so-called Trash Metal Project – a project to protect our environment. The special action for all metalheads at W:O:A 2023 was brought to life in cooperation with #17Goals – Sustainable Development Goals.
The goals take all three dimensions of sustainability equally into account – socially, environmentally, economically speaking – and apply as a project of the UN for all states of the world: industrialized, emerging and developing countries. They make it clear that we have a shared responsibility for the world. Therefore, at Wacken 2023, the motto was: reduce waste – and everyone is joining in! The fitting anthem for this: the song “Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.”
“Reduce. Reuse. Recycle” is a sing-along song that is sure to convert all metalheads to environmentalists. It was written by Rupert Keplinger (Eisbrecher, Antitype, Universum 25) and Jürgen Plangger (A Life Divided, Eisbrecher). Even after this year’s edition of the Wacken Open Air, the song is more topical than ever and works perfect as an anthem to rock out to for your weekly trip to the recycling center!
